Burley Horseboxes​

Our Classic conversion box Based on the ever popular Renault Master LWB van (also badged as Vauxhall Movano and Nissan Interstar) with a payload of around 1200kg, able to accommodate up to 2 16’2” hh horses and with a gross vehicle weight not exceeding 3500 kg, can be driven on a normal full car licence, can be serviced and mot’d by your local garage and needs no operators licence or 6 weekly checks.

 

So what is included in the price:

 

HORSE AREA

 

The original pressed steel bulkhead, factory fitted to the van is simply not strong enough even if reinforced in our opinion, we remove this.

 

Front bulkhead between cab and horse area, putting SAFTEY FIRST we fit a fully welded steel box section frame with extra reinforcing covered with a one piece 14mm GRP panel (white GRP bonded to high quality ply)Fitted with a sliding bulkhead window, to allow you to check the horses.

 

Cameras can be fitted as an optional extra.

 

1200mm high fixed breast bulkhead. Welded steel box section frame, lined with 9mm quality hardwood ply screwed and bonded to both sides.(Some manufacturers say that you should have a removable bulkhead that can be used as an emergency exit, we can modify the bulkhead to suit if required!)We can fit a small door to allow access from day living area into the fixed bulkhead as an optional extra.

 

Welded steel partition fitted with a Clear pvc skirt, adjustable at 75mm centres up to 150mm either side from central position on stainless steel brackets.

 

Floor

 

12 mm quality hardwood ply screwed and bonded to the existing steel van floor. Fully sealed with returns up sides to 100mm with fibreglass matting and a grey gelcoat on top, this should prevent any urine/water getting between the steel and ply and rotting the floor (we know how corrosive horse urine is) 22mm green flooring grade rubber/ EVA mats or 12mm rubber mats (2 pieces) to floor.

Welded steel lattice frame to strengthen the side

with 9 mm quality hardwood ply screwed and bonded to a height of

1220mm (48 inches) White faced aluminium above.10mm black EVA

wall mats bonded and capped to a height of 1220mm on both

bulkheads and side wall.

 

One strip light fitted to offside.

One 400mm opening roof vent.

 

Day living/ Grooms’ area

 

White coated ply lining to walls in living area,

seat box to cover offside wheel arch, spare wheel mounting to remain on nearside, nearside wheel arch box to be carpeted, two haynet rings, vinyl floor covering with aliminium capping to rear edge, one strip light

fitted above rear doors. Two 14” by 18” black framed clear glass windows one fitted to either side panel of living area (note size quoted is frame size not glass size) fitted with moulded GRP window surrounds to the inside.

 

Exterior

 

Fully clad box sectioned framed ramp, 12mm high quality ply top, fully carpeted with tough carpet, aliminium trimmed edges, fitted with a single gas strut to ease closing.

 

One piece clad top door, top hung with two gas struts, inner clad with white faced aliminium.

 

Moulded GRP finish panel to close gap between door and ramp subframe.

 

Two tie points to drivers side, one tie point on the passenger side. (we can move these to suit your requirements, extra tie points can be fitted as an optional extra)

 

Exterior lettering “HORSES” on the front above the cab and rear top of rear doors in a contrasting colour to paintwork.

Horse area height 2130mm or 7’Horse are length 2060mm or 6’ 9”Horse are width 1740mm or 5’ 8”Day living/ grooms area length 1300mm or 4, 4”All measurements are approximate and can be adjusted slightly to suit your requirements.

£5800 inclusive based on the customer supplying a suitable vehicle for conversion.

Paintwork

 

We are unable to carry out any paint work there is a local professional body expert who is able to do anything from a simple ramp/ top flap respray to a full colour change respray including solid or multi-colour metallic paint schemes.
